Here we go with 2026 - a time to make plans and take ACTION!

As a Certified Nutrition Coach 🍎 I’ve been coaching clients for years on the PREP side of life.  To be prepared sets you up for easy choices. ✅

TRY using the 5 VEGGIE SHOP & CHOP to fast track meal prep. 😁

The Primary Focus is to increase both the variety and colour of nutrients from fresh, local and organic vegetables that you have prepared and in your face.  👀

The idea is to include a "5 Vegetable Shop and Chop" plan and get this into implementation.  

STEP ONE: 

- Go to your favourite local grocery store that offers organic or unsprayed produce..... choose 5 different colours of vegetables.

Black/Purple - ...

Orange/Yellow -....

White - ....

Green - ....

Red - ...

WHY?

Each of these different colours & colour combos offers different phytonutrients (plant chemicals) which have different nutritional effects on your body by supplying an array of vitamins, minerals and different sources of fibre to feed your microbiome (oh so important for digestion - the foundation for health, weight loss and vibrant energy). ;) 

From a Chinese Medicine Standpoint different colours are said to "TONIFY" or build up energy for their associated organ system.  

Examples: 

- RED - tonifies the heart and builds blood

- GREEN - strengthens the detoxification system of the liver - which includes the skins detoxification

- WHITE - tonifies the Lung and strengthens breathing, clears the nasal and lung passages and helps to build immunity of the body

- YELLOW/ORANGE - tonifies the spleen & stomach (organs of digestion in chinese medicine) that allow you to assimilate nutrients of your food into usable energy from your body

- PURPLE/BLACK - tonifies the kidneys, in chinese medicine kidneys and adrenal glands are important for sex hormones and regulating these + providing strength to your bones + longevity to your lifespan

STEP 2:

Wash, grate, chop, cut or spiralize all Veggies so these are ready to go

STEP 3:

Store in glass containers in your fridge - HAVE THEM STARE YOU IN THE FACE each time you open up and see what your snacking options are ;)
